West Cornwall has a richly diverse calendar of traditional celebrations, special festivals and events.  Why not time your visit to coincide with one of them?

26 April  Camborne: Trevithick Day – a celebration of Camborne’s famous son, the engineer Richard Trevithick. www.trevithick-day.org.uk
5 May  St Ives May Day celebrations; street entertainment, maypole dancing, parades, music and games – lots to see and do all day!
8 May Helston Flora Day: not to be missed this is one of the oldest surviving customs in the country, celebrating the coming of spring.  The first dance is at 7am!
19 May –
13 Sept 
Minack Theatre summer season; this open-air theatre on the cliffs is an opportunity not to be missed.  We are happy to provide a picnic supper to add to your enjoyment of the evening.  See www.minack.com for more details.
20 – 29 June Golowan Festival in Penzance; a celebration of the Feast of St John and of ancient summer Celtic traditions, including dances, street theatre, firework displays, music etc. Mazey Day will be on Saturday 29 June. The Festival culminates in Quay Fair Day on 30 June with the ancient serpent dance through the streets.  www.golowan.com
 July    Mousehole: “Sea Salts and Sail” Festival – date to be confirmed www.seasalts.co.uk
12 - 19 July Lafrowda Festival in St Just: art, music, drama, street processions and much more  A week of events culminating in Lafrowda Day on 19 July.  www.lafrowda-festival.co.uk
16 July RNAS Culdrose Air Day.
15-17 August St Agnes: West of England Steam Rally.
25 August Newlyn Fish Festival: a unique opportunity to find out about all aspects of the fishing industry – from net-making to fish cookery; there will be plenty of entertainment for all the family.
6 - 20 Sept St Ives September Festival of music and art.
2 - 3 Nov St Just Feast.
13 Dec Mousehole Christmas lights.
